I just received this email from my sister Katie about friends of my family. I know the Arms from their hospitality while visiting Charlottesville. Mom has been emailing me asking me for prayer about the safety of their son, Brad. Please pray for my mother as well as this will be hard blow for her.

Brad Arms, son of Bob & Betty Arms, was killed yesterday, November 19, 2004, in Falluja, Iraq. Little information is available at this time. Right now the most helpful way that you can support this family is to pray for Bob, Betty, Doug, their extended family and friends as they come to grip with this news.

Brad Arms was born in Charlottesville, Va., Feb. 13, 1984. A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, he graduated from The Covenant School in 2002, and enlisted in the Marine Reserves.
Three weeks after graduation he went to Parris Island. He completed boot camp with a meritorious promotion. Brad then went to Camp Lejeune, N.C. for his Military Combat Training (MCT) and Military Occupational Training (MOS) as a Combat Engineer, finishing first in his platoon with another promotion to Lance Corporal. In January 2003, he started his freshman year at the University of Georgia and commuted monthly to his reserve unit in Lynchburg, Virginia.
On July 7, 2004, Brad’s reserve unit left for training at Camp Pendleton, Calf., and departed for Iraq at the end of August. Corporal Bradley Thomas Arms died November 19, 2004, in Fallujah, Iraq while serving our country.
We grieve the loss of our son, but we rejoice that he is home with his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his parents Bob and Betty Arms and brother, Doug.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Ambassadors for Christ International, P.O. Box 470, Tucker, GA 30085. Memorial Services will be conducted at a later date.

Thanks for posting the obituary. Sigh.
Even though I never met him, part of me grieves as this war loss hits a little closer to home.
So young. So much loss. So many families grieving as this holiday season approaches.
