I don’t know if it’s 100% accurate but it’s definitely makes you think. Hat tip to Thomas Oatley.

the most unbelievable one on there to me is Saudi Arabia/Tennessee. how on earth could Tennessee compete with OIL? thoughts?

Good question. A quick google search shows that the CIA estimates the Saudi GDP to be $282 billion dollars. (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sa.html)
The BEA estimate the 2006 Gross State Product of Tennessee to be $238 billion dollars. (http://www.bea.gov/regional/gsp/action.cfm)
So I think it’s a reasonable comparison.

RE: Tennessee
As I recall the state has one of the friendlier tax environments in the nation and alot of corporations have set up headquarters in Nashville and Memphis, including many major medical companies.
I was disappointed that a small island (Singapore) had a comparable economy to my home state of South Carolina, but after a little research I found out that they had about the same population (around 4.5 million), and it seems to make more sense.
