Into Boston

with 4 comments

We made our first trip to Boston this morning.  Amtrak in was lovely and a fast 40 minutes.  The city was big and vibrant with Boston Common reminding us of Central Park.  We wandered Beacon Hill, watched sailing class on the Charles, ate from a food truck, and snacked at little coffee shops on Charles Street.  We even made the commuter train back. An easy and fun start to learning Boston.

Butter?

The paint color?  The name of the family inside?  How smooth a rapper the owner is?  Whatever the answer, Providence has some awesome architecture in the areas between us and Brown.  Loving walking past all of it on my way to meetings.

The Sun Porch at Night

First peak at the new place.  It’s . . . palatial frankly… huge, clean, and light filled.  Add in the 70 degree highs and 50 degree lows and we’re loving it.

Still Reading?

with 12 comments

Posts will be a bit light this week as we transit to parts north.

In the mean time I am curious who reads Further Musings these days.  If you still swing by let me know.  It helps the motivation to know who.s dropping by.  🙂

The Other Office Door

with one comment

This year I shared an interior office door with a senior colleague who was storing  bookshelves and bookshelves of his old journals in my office.

This arrangement gave us some sound privacy and freed up some bookshelf space for me.

It also got a lot of second looks and compliments for creativity.  The chair liked it enough to ask me to leave it up as a sound barrier for the next person to occupy it.

HT: Sarajevo library for inspiration.
